Hey, this is Nylo, builder of Ilumia. I'm an artist by trade and started building this site on the side, hoping it might give artists, mothers, students, and anyone else in need a better handle on their options and costs for their healthcare. Like many gig workers, I was never offered insurance through an employer—what employer, right?

When faced with the daunting task of choosing a Marketplace plan for the first time, this tool gave me a sense of empowerment I hadn't felt before when it came to healthcare, and I want to share it with others in the hope of supporting you on your own journeys.

Medical debt is one of the leading causes of bankruptcy in the U.S.
In the words of Jesse Welles, "there ain't no YOU, in United Health."

Thinking about it too much will get you down, but this tool will hopefully arm you with knowledge, and knowledge is power.
